Elkins Wins High Jump At Meet Of Camps

Greenwood student-athlete Sarah Elkins had already enjoyed a stellar senior year as a starter for the state champion Lady Bulldogs’ basketball team. She had also signed a letter of intent to play college basketball, was preparing to graduate, and was planning to major in pre-med biological science at Lyon College in Batesville. But just for good measure, she added a first-place showing in the high jump at the state’s Meet of Champs, held recently in Russellville. Elkins earned the right to compete at the Meet of Champs by winning her event in the 6A state meet at Lake Hamilton a week earlier with a leap of 5’3”.
