In late results from Tuesday night, the Greenwood Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs swept both ends of a hoops doubleheader from Fort Smith Southside. The twin victories at H. B. Stewart Arena served as the conference home openers for both GHS squads, evening their league records at 1-1, after each suffered an earlier loss at Little Rock Parkview last Friday.
In the varsity opener, the Lady Bulldogs notched a double-digit victory over Southside, winning 65-50. In the nightcap, the GHS boys had an even more impressive win, defeating the Rebels by 18 points, 57-39, avenging an earlier loss to Southside in non-conference play.
This is Greenwood’s first season in Class 6A and the powerful 7A/6A Central. Greenwood returns to the hardcourt this coming Friday at Little Rock Hall. Their next home game will be next Tuesday, January 15th, against Fort Smith Northside.
