Greenwood Girls' Golf Team Wins Conference Championship; Boys' right behind

Girls

The Greenwood Girls’ golf team captured the 5A West Conference Championship Monday at Ben Geren. Greenwood (262) beat out Siloam Springs (271), Greenbrier (271), Little Rock Christian (314), and Russellville (345) to win the Championship.

The Lady ‘Dogs were led by Junior Jordyn Lane who shot an 85. Lane also received All Conference honors and was the runner-up medalist. Jaylee Mohteau and Ella Austin both received All Conference honors with an 87 and 90 respectively. Hallie Jones wrapped things up for the champions with a 98.

Greenwood girls will travel to Hot Springs on September 26th to play in the State Tournament.

 

Boys

The Greenwood boys’ golf team captured the runner-up trophy as they shot a 312. GHS lost to Little Rock Christian (297), but beat Siloam Springs (329), Greenbrier (378), Vilonia (379), Alma (394), Beebe (400), and Russellville (408).

Evan Griffith continued his dominant season as he shot a 67 (-5) to capture All Conference honors as well as being a medalist. Brady Fein also won All Conference honors as he shot a 79.  Bradley Brotherton, Hayden Weaver, and Landon Tuck wrapped things up for GHS with an 82, 84, and 85 respectively.

Greenwood will take on Fayetteville and Siloam Springs in an 18

hole match on Thursday, September 20th.
