The Greenwood Lady Bulldogs went 4-0 in conference play Friday night mercy ruling the Greenbrier Panthers by a score of 57-28.

Greenbrier took an early 4-0 lead before the Bulldogs began a 9-0 scoring streak led off by a three point shot by Becca Tyson. Greenwood would control the rest of the game going ahead by 22 by half time and 31 by the end of the third.

The clock would run non-stop in the fourth in accordance with the Arkansas Athletic Associations mercy rule.

"We came and played really hard," said Head coach Clay Reeves. "We played really quick were fast to the ball tonight. Our kids did a great job all over the floor tonight. All of our players competed really hard and did a good job looking up the floor for the open person."

The boys were able to keep pace with the Panthers through the first half trailing by just one point going into halftime but Greenbrier would pull away in the third and leading by 15 in the fourth. The Bulldogs would cut the lead to 10 but it would not be enough to overcome the Panthers.

"We helped them at key times during the run," Greenwood head coach Derek Harrell said. "We turned the ball over two or three straight times. Once they got a six- or seven-point lead, they're hard to come back on."

"Their size was hard to deal with," Harrell said. "They're athletic as well. Our guys battled hard and scrapped for every ball they could."
