Greenwood basketball sweeps Harrison, splits with Alma

The final 5A West Conference season for Greenwood High School basketball opened at Harrison last Friday (January 6th) with a pair of road wins for the 'Dogs and Lady 'Dogs. The GHS girls followed up their victory over the Lady Goblins by easily topping Alma in the home conference opener at H.B. Stewart Arena this past Tuesday (January 10th). Unfortunately, the GHS boys could not follow suit and lost to the Airedales. This is the last trip through the 5A West Conference for both teams. Greenwood will be moving up to the 6A

The Greenwood High School Lady Bulldogs continue to barge their way through the early part of the 5A West Conference basketball schedule, notching two more league wins over Vilonia and Siloam Springs in recent days. Half-a-dozen games into the 2012 conference season, the Greenwood High School Bulldogs and Lady 'Dogs are in prime position to make a serious run at winning their respective league titles. After last Friday's twin wins over Greenbrier and Tuesday's doubleheader sweep of Huntsville, the GHS girls are perfect at 6-0 in 5A West play, while the boys improved to 4-2 against league foes.
