Bulldogs Soar Over Eagles
Jake Davidson gets around a Vilonia defender in the 52-28 win over the Eagles. Davidson finished the game with 14 carries for 51-yards and a touchdown.
Pictures Below By: Kim Singer 10-5-07 Looking to move to 3-0 in conference and get a little revenge on Vilonia for the homecoming loss last year the Bulldogs wasted little time scoring with 10:42 left in the first quarter on a 25-yard pass from Tyler Wilson to CJ McCraney. Zach Turpin would haul in a Wilson pass for a 42-yard touchdown with 7:17 left in the first quarter to go up 14-0 after an Austin Hartness PAT. Vilonia would come storming back in the second quarter to tie the game at 14 all, but the Bulldogs would rally before the half to take the lead 21-14 on a 12 yard touchdown pass from Wilson to Turpin. Greenwood would expand the lead in the third quarter with a 20-yard field goal by Hartness and a 10-yard touchdown run by Jake Davidson. Vilonia would complete a pass for 73-yards to cut the lead again, but the Bulldogs would take control in the fourth quarter with a 1-yard touchdown run by Matt Sindelar, 51-yard pass touchdown pass by Zach Turpin and a 19-yard touchdown run by Matt Sindelar. Greenwood head coach Rick Jones is glad to see his Bulldogs sitting at 3-0 in conference, but admits there's still work to be done. "It's a good way to start, but we're a long way from where we want to be, we have a lot of work to do," said Jones. "That's the thing that's been encouraging is we still haven't played our best yet. We have a lot of improvement we're going to make still." The Bulldogs will return home on Friday night and host Greenbirer for homecoming. Homecoming will begin at 7:00 PM with kickoff at 7:30 PM. |
