The Bulldogs celebrated senior night with a win over the Siloam Springs panthers to set up a Conference Championship game with Little Rock Christian this Friday night. The two teams traded scores in the first quarter with Greenwood first taking the lead 7-0 on a 16-yard touchdown pass to Travis Sandifer. Siloam Springs would answer also with a 16 yard touchdown pass to tie it up 7-7 at the end of the first quarter. The Bulldogs would add 17 more points in the second quarter, with a 20-yard field goal by Austin Hartness, 8-yard pass by Josh Hogan and 1-yard run by Matt Sindelar. The Bulldogs scored two touchdowns in the final 1:22 of the half. After Hogan's touchdown, The Bulldogs were ahead 17-14. The Bulldog defense forced a fumble with Michael Berry recovered with one minute to go before the half. Doing what they do best, Greenwood went into overdrive and drove down and scored on Sindelars's 1-yard run on 4th down with 3 seconds left before the half. Hartness added another field goal in the third quarter of 24-yards. Siloam Springs would make it a ball game in the 4th quarter though scoring two touchdowns to Sindelar's's one. Siloam Spring scored with 3:03 to go in the game to pull within a touchdown. Tried for the onside kick, but the Bulldogs came up with the ball and went into victory formation to run the clock out. "It was a lot of ups and downs tonight," said Bulldog head coach Rick Jones. "We didn't handle the clock very well there at the end and I need to do a better job of that." Greenwood will travel to Little Rock this Friday night for a Conference Championship game with Little Rock Christian. The Warriors are undefeated for the season, but have had close games with Vilonia, Harrison and Siloam Springs. Fans are encouraged to bring chairs or be prepared to stand the entire game as visitors seating is only about 100 people. The Greenwood band is going and will be taking chairs. The student section will stand between the band and the visitor bleachers. Little Rock Christian is on Hwy 10 to the West of Little Rock. My recommendation for Greenwood fans traveling to the game is, if leaving from Greenwood take Hwy 10 to Little Rock, Stadium will be on the left as you come into Little Rock. You will pass Pulaski Robinson on the right before you come to LRC. If leaving from Fort Smith, take I40 to Morrilton, take the 2nd Morrilton exit and take Hwy 9, south to Perryville and connect into Hwy 10 there and go on into Little Rock. Of course you can take I40 all the way to Little Rock, then I430 south to, Cantrell road (which is Hwy 10) and then go back west to the stadium also. I just think the other two ways will be faster and less around.
