The Bulldogs took a "Get Right" week of practice onto the field at Smith-Robinson Stadium for their home opener of the 2007 season and they would not disappoint the packed home crowd, or Tulsa head coach Todd Graham and Tulsa offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn who were on the sideline to watch Tyler Wilson.

The Bulldogs scored early and often to go up 35-0 and racked up 291-yards, while holding Poteau to just 11-yards in the first quarter of play.

Greenwood only need 55 seconds to score as Trey Hopkins took a short pass from Tyler Wilson and busted two tackles to go 47-yards for a touchdown on the fourth play of the game.

After holding Poteau to three and out, Tyler Wilson hit junior Zach Turpin on the first play of the series for a 42-yard touchdown at the 8:42 mark of the first quarter.

Trey Hopkins in the "Money Package" found the endzone again on a 1-yard run with 7:42 to go in the first.

CJ McCraney at the 4:43 mark, scored on a 13-yard pass from Wilson.

Zach Turpin would score the final touchdown of the quarter on a 52-yard touchdown pass from Wilson with 1:39 to go in the still the first quarter.

Jake Davidson added the final touchdown of the game for the Bulldogs behind backup quarterback Matt Sindelar as Davidson scored on a 1 yard run with 2:35 left in the half. The Bulldogs lead 42-0 at half time and the Mercy Rule was played in the second half.

Tyler Wilson was 10 of 15 for 235-yards and four touchdowns for the night, all of which occurred in the first quarter. Matt Sindelar was 2 of 3 for 93-yards and Tyler Shook 1 of 3 for 8-yards.

Trey Hopkins had 4 carries for 56-yards and two touchdowns for the game, again limited to early in the first quarter of play.

Zach Turpin led the Greenwood receivers with 4 catches for 152-yards and two touchdowns.

Kickers Austin Hartness and Dylan Flatte were perfect for the night on extra points.

"We've had troubles with Poteau, they're a physical strong team, we were happy to play the way we did," said Bulldog head coach Rick Jones. "I thought our guys would be ready. We had a get right week of practice. We made some strides, we made some personal changes and I think we're going to get better from here on out."

Bulldogs Take Out Frustration On Pirates
Greenwood 42, Poteau 14

Greenwood defense pounds the Pirates in a 42-14 route in what could be the final Border Feud between Greenwood and Poteau.
