The Greenbrier Panther's were in trouble from the start of the game fumbling away the opening kickoff to Greenwood at their own 30-yard line.
"I was proud of our kids," said Bulldog head coach Rick Jones. "Our defense stepped up and got us some turnovers and I think that was the key."
It would take only one play for William Ridener to find the end zone on the hand off from Daniel Stegall. Mason Knox's PAT was wide giving the Bulldogs a early 6-0 lead just 17 seconds into the game.
Greenbrier would mount their most impressive drive of the night though on the ensuing kickoff.  The Panthers found the end zone on a 16-yard run by Jeremiah Goode that capped off a 10 play drive and gave the Panthers their only lead of the night at 7-6.
The Bulldogs would answer back taking the lead for good after a 9 play drive that last just under two minutes as Jacob Mills went in from 5-yards out. The two point conversion failed making it 12-7 with 1:01 to go in the first quarter.
Kyle Walters hauled in a 35-yard pass from Daniel Stegall  with 10:03 to go in the second quarter to put the Bulldogs up 20 after the two point conversion.
Jared Morris would add 6 more points on a 20-yard touchdown reception. Daniel Stegall added the two point conversion to give the Bulldogs a 28-7 lead.
The Bulldogs would go up 35-7 on Tony Kershaws' 14-yard run with 2:07 to go before the half. Knox's PAT was good.
With the Mercy Rule insight starting the second half, it would be Daniel Stegall on a 5-yard run that would envoke it on the Panthers, putting the Bulldogs up 42-7.
Greenbrier managed a couple touchdowns late in the 4th quarter to bring the final score to 42-23.
Greenwood's offense was not stopped by Greenbrier all night and the Bulldog defense are improving each week.
"We're taking steps every week getting better", said Jones.
Greenwood put up 343-yards of offense with 185 in the air and 158 on the ground.
Greenbrier  had 251-yards of offense with 128 in the air and 125 on the ground.
William Ridner led the Bulldog rushing attack with 8 carries for 75-yards.
Tony Kershaw had 5 carries for 43-yards.
Kyle Walters led the receiving crop. with 5 catches for 80 -yards.
Jared Morris had 2 catches for 62-yards.
With Greenwood's toughest part of their schedule upcoming, the Bulldogs will look to improve even more as they take the long road trip up to Harrison and Crooked Creek on Friday.
