Bulldog Car Wash A Success

7-11-04 By: Brian Vaughn
The 2004 Greenwood Bulldog football team and coaches took part in a car wash fundraiser for the Fall Sports Booster Club on Saturday at several locations in Greenwood and Fort Smith.
Thanks to the generosity of the great Bulldog fans, Farmer's Bank, Rick's Quick Lube Plus and Wal-Mart and a number of volunteers the fundraiser was a great success for the program.
The car wash raised approximately $2,100 for the booster club, which pays for things like the team meals when the football team travels during the season.
The booster club also gets other things for the team like the sideline jackets that were purchased, the astro-play on the sideline at Smith-Robinson Stadium that was installed last year, and they provide the fireworks for all the home varsity football games.
The booster club also gives out a $1,000 Male and Female student athlete scholarship annually.
The Greenwood Fall Sports Booster Club produces the Bulldog Radio broadcast each season which airs the radio play-by-play of each Greenwood football game during the season.
They will begin selling ads for this season's broadcast very soon. If you would like to purchase an ad or would like to help sell ads please contact either Ken Fritsche 996-5697 or Bob Beams 996-7733.
The booster club is open to any Greenwood Bulldog fan to join. Parents and relatives of players are especially encouraged to join to help make their athletes season one to remember.
To join send a check for $10.00 to Greenwood Fall Sports Booster Club, PO Box 1621, Greenwood, AR 72936, or go to www.GreenwoodBulldogs.com for more information.
The booster club is planning another car wash for Saturday, July 17, look for the Bulldogs at locations around town.
