Boys, Girls Fall To Vilonia

By: Dustin Graham- Greenwood Democrat

The Greenwood Bulldog basketball team had a tough time on the road last week as both teams took a loss to the Vilonia Eagles. This was just the second conference loss for the Lady Bulldogs, who lost their first conference game the week before to the Morrilton Devil Dogs.

"I thought that we played really well," said Girls coach Clay Reeves. "We played good defense and rebounded really well but we just had trouble scoring. We had good shots and shots by all the people that need to be shooting the ball we just came up short on offense."

"We gave a great effort and played together well everything went right our shots just didn't fall and that happens sometimes."

The boys are still on the hunt for their first conference win which, has so far eluded them despite putting out a great effort each time they take the court.

"We just could not get into a routine offensively," said Boys Coach Derek Harrell. The Bulldogs fell to the Eagles by a score of 46-60.

Greenwood is scheduled to face Harrison on the 5th and Greenbrier on the 8th.
