Bulldogs fall in quarterfinals, bid farewell to head coach

Greenwood’s sixth consecutive state tournament appearance under head coach Randy Gardner was somewhat bittersweet, given that earlier this spring Gardner tendered his resignation, effective at the end of the school year. Originally from Southeast Missouri, the coach and his family are returning to their roots where he will become involved in a family-owned business. Click Here For More

Reception held to introduce new GHS baseball coach

A public reception was held last Monday evening in the hospitality room of Greenwood’s H.B. Stewart Arena to formerly introduce Greenwood High School’s new head baseball coach, Trey Holloway. An overflow crowd was treated to free pizza and listened intently as the new coach explained his plans and expectations for the GHS baseball program. Trey Holloway to become next GHS baseball coach

Greenwood High School head baseball coach Randy Gardner recently notified Athletic Director Jerry Cecil that this would be his final season at the helm of the Bulldogs. Gardner is stepping down after several very successful seasons at Greenwood, and Fort Smith Southside assistant baseball coach Trey Holloway has been named to replace him. Click Here For More

With the announcement that head coach Randy Gardner is stepping down after this season, the Greenwood Bulldogs now have additional incentive to get ready for the 6A state tournament next week in Benton. Not only do they want to prove they are a better team than their sub .500 record indicates, but they want to avenge last season’s loss in the title game and win it all for Coach Gardner. Diamond Dogs show signs of improvement as season nears home stretch

The Greenwood High School baseball team has been inconsistent through the first two-thirds of the 2014 spring season, and find themselves in the middle of the pack in the 7A/6A Central conference standings. Likewise, they are several games back of Russellville in the 6A East standings that will determine their seeding in the 6A state tournament in Benton in mid-May. But head coach Randy Gardner has not given up on his team and remains hopeful that they may be coming around soon. Click Here For More

GHS head baseball coach Randy Gardner, along with his staff and players are still searching for answers to the Bulldogs’ sluggish start this season. Inconsistent pitching and defense, coupled with sometimes anemic hitting is not a good formula for winning baseball.
