Game Write Up And Unsubmitted Pictures By Brian Vaughn
Siloam Springs fresh off a sweep of Alma last Friday in conference play was ready to bounce on the Bulldogs in Game One Friday, April 11 at Bulldog Field.
The Panthers jumped on the Bulldogs early scoring 2 runs in the top of the first inning. They would then hold the Bulldogs scoreless until the bottom of the 4th inning when the Bulldogs and Bats would come alive.
After peppering long rips the first 3 innings of play the 4th inning would be the one the Dogs found the right spots to put the ball down to take full advantage of the Panther defense.
Micah Spahn pitched all 6 innings in the run ruled game with 6 strikeouts and allowing only 2 hits.
Ed Woods 1 for 2 with 3 RBI's.
Cory Allison 3 for 4 with 1 RBI.
Jantzen Black 3 for 3 with 1 RBI.
Siloam Springs: 2 0 0 0 0 0 2
Greenwood: 0 0 0 9 2 1 12
In Game Two it would be the Bulldogs who jumped on the Panthers first scoring 1 run in the first. Siloam would answer that one run in the 3rd inning, but the Bulldogs would pull ahead in the bottom of the third scoring 3 and would put the game away in the 5th inning scoring 5.
It would be Cory Allison the master at putting down the bunt who scored the 3 runs in the 3rd inning. With 2 men on Allison layed down the perfect bunt to advance the runners and get him safely to first. The Panther defense plundered their way through after the bunt trying to get the runners out and all of them would score giving Allison a in the park home run on a bunt.
Brandon Dunn took the mound for the Bulldogs in Game Two and pitched 6 innings with 7 strikeouts and only 1 hit. Cory Allison came in to relief Dunn and finish the game.
Brandon Dunn 3 for 3 with 2 RBI's.
Daniel Stegall 3 for 3.
Siloam Springs: 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 1
Greenwood: 1 0 3 0 0 5 - 9
