Greenwood Clinches AAAA-West Championship

One, two, three- Just that quick the Greenwood Bulldogs clinched the AAAA-West conference championship at Airedale field with a triple play to end the final inning and clinched the outright championship.
Greenood took game two of the final doubleheader of the conferene season 5-0 over rival Alma.
"Conference champs," said a happy Craig Jones head coach of the Bulldogs following the sweep of Alma. "First conference championship since '99 and the first for this group of seniors in any sport. They were glad they got that one and we got it outright, we don't have to share it with no body."
Daniel Stegall got the call to take the mound in game two and went all 7-innings allowing 5 hits with 8 strikeouts.
The Bulldogs put together 9 hits with ustin Fuchs going 2 for 3 with a home run and an RBI. Jason McDonald was 2 for 3 including two doubles and an RBI.
Jantzen Black brought two in with a triple to the outfense in the top of the third to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead.
Coming off the sweep of Harrison to claim the top spot in the AAAA-West just 24 hours earlier, the Bulldogs wasted little time jumping on their arch rival Alma in game one.
The Dogs put two runs on the board in the top of the first to take a two run lead and never looked back.
They peppered runs in each inning, but the 5th and took total control of the game in the top of the 6th adding 7 runs to make the final score 13-1 in a run ruled 6-innings.
Casey Benincosa pitched all 6-innings allowing 4 hits with 3 strikeouts.
Cory Allison was 4 for 4 with 3 RBI, scoring 3 runs. Jantzen Black 2 for 4 scoring 2 runs and Ed Woods 3 for 4 with 4 RBI, scoring 2 runs.
