Friday night was the Diamond Dogs final home ball game and the Bulldogs celebrated senior night with two big conference wins in the roughed AAAA-West over Morrilton 10-0, 11-0.
Greenwood (20-6, 9-1) came into the doubleheader with Morrilton (13-7, 6-6) expecting one of their tougher conference games against the third place team in the conference race.
However, behind the pitching performances of seniors Mark Leon and Cory Allison and the hitting of the Bulldogs they never had to look back once.
The Bulldogs have mercy ruled their last five conference games with a combined score of 82-9.
Senior Mark Leon took to the mound in the first game against Morrilton and pitched all 5-innings for the Bulldogs only giving up one hit with seven strikeouts, while facing just 16 batters.
The Bulldogs once again wasted little time in lighting up the scoreboard scoring 4 runs in the 1st-inning and adding 3 more 2nd and 4th-innings to take the win 10-0.
Jason McDonald was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI's, Jantzen Black 3 for 4 with 1 RBI, Cory Allison 2 for 4 with 2 RBI, and Daniel Stegall 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's.
In the nightcap senior Cory Allison got the call and once again pitched lights out for the Bulldogs pitching a no-hitter going all 5-innings with 5 strikeouts.
The bats for the Bulldogs would be hot again in the 1st-inning with the Dogs scoring 5 runs and they never looked back taking game two 11-0.
Ed Woods was 1 for 1 with 1 RBI, Tieler Driscoll 1 for 1 with 2 RBI's, Cory Allison 2 for 3 with 1 RBI, and Jason McDonald 1 for 1.
"Wow, one hit in 10-innings can't ask for anymore than that," said Bulldog head coach Craig Jones about the pitching performances of his seniors. "They went out there and competed tonight. They were hitting their spots, that was just two great pitching performances."
The Bulldogs travel to Harrison on Friday for another conference doubleheader that could decide the conference championship and the number one seed in the playoffs.
"Harrison is going to be tough, especially up there," said Jones. "They're always tough, they're going to do things right. Coach Bock always has his teams ready to play."
Harrison comes into the game with a perfect (10-0) conference record.
